After I returned from my trip on the HMS Beagle, I published a book called “On the Origin of Species” in 1859. In the book “On the Origins of Species”, I explain my theory evolution and the observations I made on my voyage on the HSM Beagle. My theory of evolution was highly controversial at the time and cause many debating. My theory state that all species came from a common ancestor and that new species are created through a series of adaptations. I came up with the theory while study finches on the Galapagos Islands.
This theory was opposed by the church because it goes against the bible in with it states the god create everything in seven days. In addition, people were often discussed with the idea that humans were related to animal. However, though years of debate the facts that supported evolution was overwhelming. Eventually my theory of evolution became widely accepted and I became known as a creditable science. This is the most significant moment in my life.
